My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the infamous Elvis and Presley!

These two handsome boys came to the Campbell River BCSPCA through a familiar, yet sad story. Abandoned on a walking trail in the cold rain, luckily some caring community members were able to wrangle them up and they are now safe, warm, and well cared for in a foster home.

Now that they've been in our care for a couple of months, they are starting to get used to their daily array of snacks, salads, and attention! Their favourite activity includes playing interior decorator with their space every morning, ensuring that each and every item is right where they like it! Toys, hides, chews, hay - you name it! They will have a blast with each item you give them, making it fun to find new and creative ways to provide enrichment for them!

While their true ages are unknown, we suspect that Elvis is the older, more experienced of the pair. He can be easily spooked by unfamiliar people, however we suspect with time and patience, he'll get more and more comfortable with being pet and held. Presley we suspect is younger and, like his brother, is also learning that humans can be trusted. Giving guinea pigs the time to get familiar with a new space, people, food, and smells is important and can be so worth it!

Recently transferred to the Cowichan BCSPCA, we believe that they will find their perfect home any day now! I mean, who can resist their funky hairdos and resilient spirits! Please apply here to arrange a meet and greet: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/rgphrmg-pre-adoption-questionnaire/

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:
