Meet Aurora, a beautiful, long-haired, all-gray girl with stunning yellow eyes and a gentle disposition. She is affectionate and very playful... and loves to be picked up or sit in your lap.
When we rescued Aurora, she was living in a large colony in Baldwin Hills. A family was feeding the cats, allowing them inside their home, handling them and also had built an outside shelter for. Other than these things, the family did nothing to stop the continual breeding and overpopulation.
Originally, I was dealing with 12 sick kittens from the location so, we focused on trying to get all the breeding adults/juveniles, fixed and vaccinated... starting with the females.
Aurora was going to be released once she recovered from her spay surgery but while being held at the transporter's home, she escaped. We were so worried about her being in an unfamiliar area but, fortunately, Aurora found her way back to the woman's garage. Soon, she was inside and sitting in their laps. I just didn't have the heart to release her back outside.
She's highly-social and would do best in a home with at least one other friendly feline. She also has been around dogs so that could be a good match for her, as well.
This girl is very gentle and will meow for affection or attention. She pushes her head and body into your hands, when getting pet and scratched, lifting her bum for maximum scritches!
You'll find her full rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #34 on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (including video and photo updates on all our cats and kittens). I'll be creating an adoption video of her and will be uploading here, to the site.
Aurora's adoption will include her:
* Spay surgery,
* De-worming,
* Flea and mite treatment (with NexGard Spectrum),
* FVRCP vaccinations,
* Rabies vaccination,
* Combo-test (for FIV/FeLV = negative),
* and Microchipping!
~ $150. adoption fee, adoption contract and home check apply / $250 for a pair ~
* Please only contact us if you'll be making Aurora a permanent member of your household and will be keeping her safe indoors.
Interested in becoming a much-needed foster? Please send us a message with your best contact info, the type of home environment you can provide and, most-importantly, the City in which you live. Thanks!

1.
Submit Application
Once you see a cat/kitten who's peaked your interest and/or tugged on your heart, you can send an email inquiry through the website.
2.
Interview
Once you've returned the completed application (via email), we follow up with a phone interview: at which time we set up a meet-n-greet.
3.
Home Check
If it's the right match for you, your family, and the animal, we would then conduct a home check; for any escape or safety hazards.

Go meet their pets
I create fun and entertaining videos on each animals, host them on YouTube and post ads on Craigslist; under the Pets section.
It's important to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying/neutering, fostering, and adopting. I also enjoy teaching others how to humanely trap stray and feral cats.

More about this rescue
We are a small, volunteer-based rescue located in the San Fernando Valley focusing, primarily, on cats and kittens. We rescue most of the animals through trapping in our local communities, or pulling from our City and County shelters. Our adoptable pets live with us in our home or in foster homes. Fosters are always needed. Please consider becoming one today?
You can find more photos, videos and updates on all our rescues by visiting us on Facebook at: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (which is a public page). Please feel free to browse through the many photo albums. I believe in transparency and rely on the support of volunteers, donors, and like-minded, rescuers. We also partner with other 501C3 Non profit rescues.
Additionally, we support and practice TNR (Trap, Nueter, Release) of community cats.
One person really CAN make a difference. Join us there and find out how you can help!
