GEORGIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Georgie Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and Plott hound mix

Best Guess for Age: 6 months as of March 2025 SEX: Male

Approximate Weight: 23 lbs as of 3/5/25; he is still growing!

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids. He lived with a cat overnight and did well. We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any adopter!

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Georgie is Looking For: His forever home! This sweetie is in the tail end of puppyhood and and still has all that puppy love for play and snuggles and more play! He hasn't seen nearly enough of the world and is eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And he'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved for all his days.

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
