PEZ NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Pez Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix
Best Guess for Age: 13 weeks as of 3/5/25 SEX: Female
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 5.5 lbs as of 3/5/25
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs and cats so long as they receive patience and proper training. We would be cautious placing Pez in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.
Currently Living at: D.C. area foster home.
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Pez is Looking For: Hi! I'm Pez and I'm looking for my family. I want one who will play with me and let me curl up on their laps for deep naps and take me on walks and romps and lots of adventures. I know I'm small but want to explore the world on my own four legs! I want to go to puppy school so I can show how super smart I am.
But most of all I want to love and be loved, to know where I belong. And I want to give you all the love and snuggles and adoring gazes I'm saving up in the shelter. What do you say? Do I get to grow up with you? Am I the loyal companion you're looking for?
What My SC Foster Says About Me: Pez is a tiny bundle of love who just wants to be in your lap, snuggled up and showered with affection. She has done well so far with the resident 2 year old human and with other dogs. While she’s sweet with other dogs, Pez knows how to stand up for herself. If a bigger dog pushes her too far, she’s not afraid to let them know when she’s had enough. Whether she's curled up for a cuddle or enjoying time with her foster family, Pez is all heart and ready to bring joy to everyone around her!
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than May 30, 2025. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
