My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mira!

Mira is a 2-year-old purebred Miniature Schnauzer who is officially ready for adoption! She has been spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. During her vetting, she also received a full dental cleaning to ensure she’s as healthy as possible before finding her forever home.

Mira’s story could have taken a very different path. Instead of ending up in a loving home, she was on the verge of being placed into another breeder’s program, destined for a life of repeated litters. But thankfully, someone stepped in and connected her breeder with us instead. Because of that, Mira now has the chance to just be a dog❤️🐾 to play, to explore, and most importantly, to be loved for who she is, not for what she can produce.

Mira is a confident, affectionate, and playful little dog with just the right amount of sass. She loves being with her people and will happily follow you around the house, always curious about what you’re doing. She has a fun, spunky side and enjoys zooming around the yard, but she settles down nicely and is always ready for cuddles.

She is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and has a friendly, adaptable personality. Whether she’s trotting by your side on a walk or curling up next to you after a long day, she’s happy just being with her people.

Mira’s adoption fee is $2,000, which includes her spay (she was in heat), her dental procedure, and the time, care, and training we have personally provided to ensure she is ready for her new home. If you think Mira is the perfect addition to your family, we’d love to hear from you!

We have a transport leaving for NorCal/Oregon on March 28 and would love to include her on the trip for the right home❤️

We offer out-of-state adoptions and can arrange transportation to your location, provided that the transport expenses are covered.

More about this rescue

Rescue has always been a part of my life. As the oldest of eight children, I grew up helping my parents run their dog rescue, watching firsthand the dedication, hard work, and love it took to save lives. While it was challenging, their success and passion inspired me. I eventually took a break from rescue work to serve in the Navy, but after my contract ended, I found myself with time on my hands while my husband was still in. That’s when I decided to start my own rescue in Virginia. Once his contract was over, we moved to California to be closer to family, and I continued this mission full-time.

At K9 Oasis Rescue, our goal is to save and rehabilitate abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs. We provide them with medical care and a safe place in our home until they are fully vetted and ready for adoption. My parents specialized in rescuing pit bulls, and now we focus more so on other breeds. While we still try to help as many as possible, we now focus on dogs with less aggressive demeanors to ensure we can provide the best care and rehabilitation for each one.

Rescue work isn’t easy. It’s emotional, exhausting, and sometimes heartbreaking. But at the end of the day, seeing a once-neglected dog transform into a happy, healthy companion makes it all worth it. Every wagging tail, every moment of trust gained, and every adoption story fuels my passion. Growing up, I watched my parents dedicate their lives to this work, and now I truly understand why they never gave up. These dogs don’t just need saving; they need someone to believe in them. That’s why I do this! Because every dog deserves a second chance, and I want to be the one to give it to them.

Thank you for supporting small rescues and opening your hearts and homes to dogs that just need some extra love and support ❤️🐾
