My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a sweet treat? Meet Brownie! Your next best friend! This beautiful Tortie is two years old and is on the lookout for someone who will give her attention and love that knows no bounds. She will peek around corners to see if she can trust you with her sweet vulnerability. Her foster family shares that she likes to check in for attention and pets, even if they’re in the washroom! Brownie is described as being shy at first, but very friendly when she warms up. Which is true to the dessert she is named after! A warm brownie ready out of the oven is the best treat! She is very gentle and likes to roll over to show her belly when given attention in the cutest little show of affection. She's not quite a lap cat yet, but is practicing and we know she will get there soon! Brownie loves to play with her people when the wand toys come out! She has a chatty side that comes out sometimes, and she will tell you all about which toys and treats she prefers! She shares her foster home with her sister, Cookie but we are unsure how she is with other cats, dogs or young children. Her ideal family would be able to provide a safe environment for Brownie to explore and come to them when she is ready for snuggles and pets. A family with older children or only adults may suit her best.

Brownie was surrendered to us through no fault of her own when her family circumstances changed. She loves spending time with people and would thrive in a home where someone is often present to provide her with daily play sessions and plenty of cuddles.

Do you have a favourite, comfy chair in your home and lap for her to practice her cuddling? Would you be willing to share it? Brownie may be your girl!

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
