Meet Finn! He is an 5 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 45 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Finn is reactive to strangers and dogs on walks, so he will need continued training. He hasn’t been tested around children. No cats or children, due to his reactivity! The owner is requiring a meet and greet for any interested people who already have a dog. He has exhibited resource guarding in the past with cats, so that will have to be considered if he is adopted into a home with another dog.
Finn loves to play fetch! He is very smart and enjoys puzzles and snuffle mats! He is sensitive to loud noises, such as fireworks or children screaming, so he will also need a patient adopter who can provide the training he needs. Finn is given trazodone and clomicalm for behavior modification. The owner is surrendering him because he chases and growls/snarls at their cat.
If you think you can provide a great home for Finn, please contact the person listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Finn.

More about this rescue
Nancy Gonzalez, founder and CEO, created Australian Shepherds Furever (ASF), a non-profit organization to promote the educated adoption and rescue of the Australian Shepherd (Aussie) dog breed.
In July of 2012, ASF initiated as a Facebook page hoping to have 1,000 user "likes" by the end one year. The page quickly outgrew expectations, now with a network of nearly 82,000 individuals striving to provide aid and refuge to Aussies all over the country.
Using the Facebook page as a platform, the website www.australianshepherdsfurever.org was developed as an additional resource aimed at educating the public on this intelligent and beautiful breed. It provides resources for those seeking help, or those willing to contribute to the Adopt, Save, Foster (ASF) philosophy. Through this philosophy, ASF has saved the lives of countless dogs and helped to provide assistance to those that have nowhere else to turn.
We as humans have a responsibility to speak up and take action in favor of those beings that are less fortunate. Thanks to a team of passionate and proactive volunteers, Aussies nationwide are given a chance at a better life through Australian Shepherds Furever.
