My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aria and her two siblings were found as feral puppies. We believe that they are a klee kai mix but, of course, we have no way of knowing for sure their breed. We expect them to be medium sized dogs once full grown. They were born in the woods and had no human contact. The lady who found them stated that they were very scared and were trying to bite them and get away. They managed to tame them down to where they aren't completely freaking out with human touch but they are still very scared and will need patience and socialization. Luckily they are only about 3 months old and still babies who will respond quickly to someone willing to put in the time and effort. They are friendly pups and you can tell that they want attention but they are just scared. All they knew was a wild life with their mom until recently. Unfortunately, mom is still out there and is unsocialized too but finders are trying to trap her. In the meantime, we will be doing everything we can to place her babies so that they will have a chance at a wonderful life. Since the pups are scared, they do tend to hide and try to make themselves "unseen". Aria can still try to nip when first approached but she will settle down once picked up, although she is still shy and scared. They seem to be fine with other dogs but have not really had any experience with cats although they are still young enough to learn to co-exist peacefully with them. We would not recommend small children for these pups simply because they can still nip out of fear but older kids who can be respectful of their space and patient in their interactions would be fine. Obviously, the pups will require training of all kind. They are not leash trained, housetrained or crate trained. They have not had much experience with toys or playing with them and they will need a lot of building of social skills and confidence by getting exposed to new people, places and things. They are at the perfect age to start experiencing and living a domesticated life. They will make wonderful companions for anyone willing to put in a bit of time and energy into making then the best dogs that they can be.
Aria saw the vet on 3/19/25 and was found to have no issues noted. She has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention but she is still too young for a heartworm test. She can continue to be maintained on monthly prevention (like Simparica Trio or prevention of your choice) until old enough to be tested or her annual checkup. She did test positive for hookworms on her fecal so we have given her a Drontal for the hookworms. She may need a follow up in 3 weeks. Aria weighed 8.3 pounds as of 3/19/25. At only 3 months of age, she still has a lot of growing to do and we anticipate that she will be a medium sized girl.
If interested in giving Aria
her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Aria's adoption fee will be $200 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Aria based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
