My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IF YOU`RE THINKING TWO CATS ARE BETTER, YOU`RE RIGHT! MORTY AND NAIROBI ARE FROM THE SAME HOME AND THE MOST ADORABLY LOVING PAIR! PLAYFUL, YET MELLOW GUY ENJOYS HIS PEOPLE THE SAME WAY! WANTS TO BE PET, HELD BRIEFLY, AND CARRIED AROUND TO POKE HIS NOSE INTO NEW PLACES WITH YOU. LOVES HAVING PEOPLE AROUND! HASN`T BEEN AROUND KIDS, BUT GENTLE KIDS SHOULD BE FINE. LOVES NAIROBI, BUT NO OTHER CATS. NO DOGS! I`m a quiet, sweet and lovable guy that will hang out close by all the time! I`m very affectionate, but not annoying about it, usually. I`m kind of irresistible though! I`m pretty active patrolling the house and checking on things. I jump and climb to sit up high, so a cat tree will be necessary. I will also want to be on the furniture with you because I`m a cuddler! You`ll notice me hanging out in whatever room you go into. I also probably need to have a water fountain. I jump on the counter and wait to drink out of the kitchen faucet here like I`m used to it. I quickly learned that I love playing with the toy that moves around under the sheet with the butterfly fluttering on top, from Amazon! It`s still my favorite. I only play with my little toys once in a while but I do like sitting in a tunnel, cardboard scratchers, and playing with wand toys with you. I can be kind of silly and roll around or have some mini-zoomies once in awhile. I`m starting to really like playing! I rush over for a few treats everyday, but I only like temptations in the green package. You may have noticed I`m a little heavy. I had Purina naturals at home, but Purina One they have here is okay when you mix that with it, or friskies indoor formula. I`m picky with wet food, but like friskies and Fancy Feast turkey, or fish flavors and pate. Once I get regular dry portions a little at a time throughout the day, I should start trimming down slowly. You`ll want me to stay healthy to keep enjoying my incredible company and watching me be so sweet with Nairobi too!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
