BACKGROUND: Beaumont was found in a colony of homeless cats in Hemet who are being fed by a kindly senior lady who was getting overwhelmed. The population was getting out of hand and a local group stepped up to help with getting the cats spayed and neutered; for those open to being social with people, rescue help was sought to find them loving homes to call their own… and so Beau came into our care.
PERSONALITY: Bouncy Beaumont is an energetic little fellow! He LOVES string toys and other interactive wands you move around for him. Toss a toy and he’ll try to catch it; send it rolling down the hall and he’ll be after it in a flash to play hallway soccer. Whacking balls around on a track is also a fascinating game. Beaumont is a snuggly boy who best likes it when you hold him kind of like a football tucked in/on your arms so he can feel like he’s securely sitting there. He’ll also sit on your lap or right beside you and particularly likes his back petted at such times. His purr motor is on automatic when you start to pet him, and he enjoys pets almost everywhere… except his tummy, since he views that as an invite to wrestle-pounce your hand and such actions are best with toys. Beau does need some adjustment time when he arrives in a new place and meets new people; he can be a bit jumpy until you’re acquainted, and then this sweetie will be your best friend.
COMPATIBILITY: Beau is good with other cats and though we haven’t seen him with a dog we think he could adapt to cat-friendly ones. He needs to have a cat or other pet companion in his new home. If children are calm and patient with him while he adjusts and gets to know them, then we think he could do well.
This boy is beautiful inside and out. Will you give Beaumont the loving home he craves?
