My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Athena, a lovely 4-year-old Boxer mix searching for a new home. Athena has faced many challenges in the past few weeks and is eager to find a loving family to help her relax and move forward.

A couple of weeks ago, Athena was surrendered to the shelter by her previous family. She was briefly adopted for about a week but was returned because she became nervous and flighty in new situations. This made it difficult for her adopter to catch her in a fenced yard after being let off her leash. Athena is housebroken, crate-trained, and enjoyed spending time with her adopter`s other dog.

Once Athena feels comfortable and secure, her true personality shines. She is incredibly friendly and affectionate and thrives outside of the shelter environment. This lovable girl needs a patient and understanding family who can give her the time to adjust and decompress.

If you are looking for a sweet and loyal companion, Athena would love to meet you! You will inspire her to thrive in her new life by providing her with a safe and loving home. Your patience and kindness will lead to a truly grateful friendship. Come say hi and give her the opportunity to brighten your life and hers!
