My name is Bunny!

Bunny is the sweetest, most lovable girl!! An excellent momma to her babies and is good with all other dogs she has encountered. She has been raising some incredible pups, which is a great reflection on her as well. Such a beautiful girl with a huge heart. She is the exact temperament of her breed - smart, loyal, affectionate, and energetic. She will be fun to train, as she’s eager to please. She adores being in the yard and demands fetch.

She specifically loves the Chuckit Kick Fetch, a bigger orange ball I have, as herding dogs tend to like things they can push around and “herd”. She hasn’t been nippy with me at all as many ACDs/herding dogs are, but any interested adopter should definitely research the breed! They are incredible dogs, but typically have higher exercise needs to meet. I personally am obsessed with the breed and all their quirks, so I especially love miss Bunny!!

Bunny was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.

• Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start!


• If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.


• Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.


• The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.

• Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed. 


• A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs.
