Leo is a 1-3 year old, 15-20 lbs chihuahua/doxie mix from Mexico.
Leo was very nervous at first, but is now adjusting to his new life in the city quite well. He loves to be out on walks and explore his new surroundings. He likes to join you on errands and is patient and well mannered wherever he goes.
Though he may get a lot of attention, he is shy to people when they approach him. His friendly side comes out when he sees another dog, always showcasing his dog etiquette. He has superb leash skills and walks like he is a dog in show, prancing and keeping his pace next to you while looking up to you for reassurance.
Leo is learning to get used to putting his leash on and taking it off and prefers to when he is lounging. Along with his quirks, he has many expressions that will make you laugh especially when he gives you a one eyed raised eyebrow. He likes cozy blankets and loves all snacks, especially cheese and his new favorite yogurt.
Leo is quiet at home and plays quietly with his foster sister, usually gently wrestling. He quickly warmed up to his foster sister and likes when she licks his ears and gives him kisses and will nuzzle up to her for more. He would benefit from having another pup at home to adjust to his new family and new routine.
Because he gets nervous when adjusting to new things and has a shy nature, he would be best with older children and a patient family. As he comes out of his shell, he shows a devoted and easy going boy!
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply for Leo, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application.
