Edwin is a 2-year old, 17-pound Chihuahua-mix from Baja California (Mexico).Edwin's adjusted incredibly well to life in NYC since he arrived a week ago. He's not scared by the emergency vehicle sirens (though he might try to echo them with some howls), or car honks or all the people in Times Square. He is great with other dogs; I currently have 2 dogs in the apartment (one ~18 pound male; one ~40 pound female) and they get along well - no fighting, barking, or resource guarding --> nothing but cuddles yet mutual respect for space.Edwin's always excited to see you when you enter the room with his tail wagging like he's trying to fly and is very content with just your presence - he doesn't need constant pets or attention, but will absolutely welcome it. He's totally fine with just curling up in a ball on a bed.Edwin's already mastered three different medium-level challenge bowls and seems to enjoy repeatedly jumping on my bed (he's allowed to sleep there), off my bed and to one of 3 different dog beds, and then back on my bed when I'm not there (pet camera has the most adorable footage/hoppage).Edwin's also potty trained, at least to the extent of no accidents on any of the beds or carpets and knowing to go on the pads.Edwin's great on a leash; no pulling or aggressive behavior to other dogs or people.Edwin is looking for a quiet or low key family, but will thrive in a medium or active family, and will be fine with children.Edwin's a quiet dog and his favorite activity is definitely curling up in a ball on a bed and greeting you.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply to foster/foster to adopt Fifi, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
