***BEHAVIOR TEST***

Dog Test: (Okay with dogs) Seal would be fine in a home with a dog. She is disabled so she would need to be around ver well behaved dogs because she cannot defend herself.

Cat Test: (Okay with Cats) Seal is sassy and will let you know if a cats in her face but she would co-exist with other cats.

Kid Test: (Okay with Kids) Seal would be best with older kids that understand her disabilities but is friendly enough to be around kids.

Litter Box Trained:(Uses Litter Box) Seal is paralyzed therefore she isn`t capable of using a litter box. She is currently being trained to wear a diaper and is doing great with that.

Energy Level: (Medium-High) Meet Seal – A Special Cat with a Big Heart!Seal may be paralyzed, but that doesn’t slow her down! This tailless beauty has plenty of life left and gets around just fine by scooting across the floor. She’s full of personality, loves to be around people, and is always eager for attention. Medically cleared and not on any medications, Seal shows no signs of pain—her condition isn’t due to an injury or break, just part of who she is.Caring for Seal does require some extra effort, but her easy-going nature makes it all worthwhile. Since she doesn’t have a tail, putting diapers on and off is simple. She’ll need someone willing to take a chance on her, but in return, she’ll give endless love and companionship. Seal is looking for a special home where she can be cherished for the amazing cat she is. Could that be with you? ??

More about this shelter

We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.

Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.

When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
