Meet Blessing. This Perfect Lab mix is 10 or 11 years old. She was chained to our fence one morning with a note asking us to take good care of her because her owner was not very nice to her and left her when they moved away. As much as we hate that she was abandoned at our door we are grateful for the good Samaritan who found her a safe place. Unfortunately she has tested Positive for Heartworms. And has horrible arthritis in her hips. We will be treating her for her heartworms and managing her pain. She needs a soft place to call her own. Blessing is and will be a true blessing to us and to her Forever Family. She is a little uncertain of new people so she will need a loving and patient home to call her own. Blessing is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. You can come in anytime we are open to meet all of our adoptable animals.

2.
Submit Application

You can fill out an application our website https://hspets.org/adoption-application/ or in person.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

Once we approve your application, you can take your new family member home the same day you come to the shelter.

Additional adoption info

We require an application, but will do same day adoptions if all the necessary information can be acquired (vet reference, landlord approval). The adoption fee for our dogs is $85, adult cats are $30 and our kittens are $55. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchips, age appropriate vaccinations, a negative heartworm test (dogs) or FIV/Feleuk test (cats) and a 2 week health guarantee.

Saturday- 11am-5pm

Sunday- 1pm-5pm

Animals who have special needs/are less adoptable may also be shown by appointment outside of open hours. Offsite events are occasionally held as well.

The Humane Society of Stillwater operates an adoption guaranteed, nonprofit animal shelter that exists on donations from the public. We house dogs and cats until they are adopted into approved homes. We transfer cats and dogs into our shelter from other shelter's euthanasia lists and we keep them until they pick their forever families.
