My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: February 6th, 2021

Donut is a quirky and charismatic lady. She has had a difficult start to life and requires a patient adopter who is willing to work with her on socialization. She was abandoned in an empty apartment by her original humans, and needs help learning to trust.

Donut spends most of her days hiding in one of her favourite spots - behind the washing machine, in a cupboard (that she is clever enough to open), or on top of the microwave. She will stay this way all day, still as a statue. In the evening she will 'thaw out' and explore her environment with interest. She will accept and even enjoy a few gentle pets and head scratches, but is easily overstimulated and will swat when she's had enough.

Because she can be reactive, Donut needs to be a solo cat. She is interested in her two foster siblings, but she can lash out when she is feeling overwhelmed or fearful.

Donut loves exploring when she is feeling good and is very attentive and interactive at these times. She LOVES tube treats and will accept hand-fed Churu, a fast way to win her affection.

With enough time, love and support, Donut's foster humans believe she will relax and become a delightful companion. She has a real personality and just needs an environment where she can relax and become her best self.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $225 per adult cat, and $300 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $225.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $175 per cat vs. $225 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
