Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This sweet dog is an owner surrender. The current family could not afford to keep him and found it difficult to feed him. We naturally offered to help but they were also having to move which new home would not allow dogs. Especially a big one!
Opie is an easy dog, very sweet . He is a mix of lab and Dane. He is happy in nature and will be a great dog for any family.
Because of his size Opie has been in rescue for about 5 months. Opie is a hearty eater and has been become a little protective over his food. This can be normal for dogs in rescue. Once in a home and the dirt settles, Opie will see the food will not run out and will calm down. He just needs to feel secure.
Currently Opie lives in a kennel and absolutely loves it! But Danes are short haired dogs so living outside is not possible especially in the north. Opie goes in when cold or storming. Please remember dogs are area specific trained and Opie is no different. He learns fast, so upon arrival he will need to be shown where he is expected to go!
RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England/ Virginia area and delivered in Pennsylvania, Virginia and RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. To get a application please email:
