SEAL
Seal has so much character and is so incredibly smart. We can't believe he was just minutes from being euthanized at the shelter due to overcrowding. Seal learned loose leash walking in our second walk. When it is meal time, he has learned to immediately to sit down and wait until released to go to his bowl. He loves our 4 kids, with the 3 older ones playing with him and snuggling him. Seal likes to come over and put his head on your lap for pets and is a big fan of belly rubs. He takes his role of protecting the house against the vacuum cleaner very seriously, even getting the house grump to laugh. One morning, when I was getting breakfast done for the 3 older kids, Seal came to the kitchen and whined at me, which was odd. I said, "What's going on, Seal? Show me." and he took me upstairs to where the baby was in the bassinet and had woken up. I hadn't heard him wake up yet, but Seal had.
Seal absolutely loves being outdoors and would probably be happy just existing out there if you let him. He likes to sniff and explore and is a very curious pup. Outside is also a favorite because almost anything outside is fair game for him to nose at or chew on, whereas inside the house has rules. A doggy visitor came by the neighbor's house one day and Seal had a blast when that dog barked a play invite to him and bolted down the fence line. Seal was so in! He took off with him, running the fence line, not able to keep up but loving the game anyway. When inside, he prefers to be with me, following me at my side and just existing with or near me as I work around the house. He loves a new toy and will walk around with it and bring it with him in his travels around the house. When he's decompressing or relaxing, you can find him laying underneath my legs, between my feet and the couch, when we are relaxing at night or if I am on my computer working. He has discovered the joys of a nice nap in front of the fireplace and will take advantage of that whenever we have it turned on.
