Meet Monty, a spirited and charming 1.5-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix bursting with personality! This quirky little guy has faced some tough times, with previous humans giving up on him, but he's ready to prove his worth to the right family. Monty is a high-energy dynamo, ready to play fetch all day long before crashing hard for a full night's sleep. He's a fantastic walker, well-behaved on the leash, and is crate-trained – his crate is a safe haven where he learns to relax and recharge.
Monty is a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs and cats and he is best suited to a home with another dog he can play with. While he hasn't met children yet, his resource guarding tendencies (with food and toys) make a home without young children essential for his safety and well-being. However, thanks to his foster dad's loving guidance and positive reinforcement training, he's already making huge strides, learning to share toys with canine companions after just a couple of weeks! He currently eats separately in his crate to ensure his comfort. He's incredibly smart, food-motivated, and nearly house-trained. His passion? Balls! And fetch! He's also learning to be affectionate and is certain to become an amazing companion.
