My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whenever a sweet and lovable dog gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. While homeless pups may very well be initially shy, once comfortable in their environment, they truly blossom. Clover, with a bit of kindness and patience, will become a loving and devoted family member that will share 100% of her heart with her favorite people. Once acclimated to her new home, our wonderful girl will develop into a devoted family companion.

Clover is an adorable 4-to-5-year-old Beagle weighing in at 25 lbs — though she could benefit from shedding about 4 to 5 lbs, as she is a bit chunky!
With her soulful eyes and sweet demeanor, Clover is truly a beauty. Judging by her tummy, it’s clear this sweet girl was used for breeding, but thankfully, she found a way out. Clover was picked up as a stray in New Mexico, and we like to believe she made a brave escape from that life. Now, she’s ready for the fresh start she deserves, filled with love, comfort, and the care she’s been missing!

From Clover's foster:
"This little girl is sooo sweet! She was found as a stray and we wonder if she was dumped by a cruel owner, a hoarder or an inhumane breeding facility. She was pretty confused at first, which is normal since she was just brought in to a scary urban shelter! But with some treats, Clover became my new best friend very quickly. She really is so so so sweet with humans, and does well with other dogs too. She doesn't love being in a crate, and so she sleeps in bed with me."

We're seeking a dog-crazy family for our lovable Clover that enjoys spending lots of time at home enjoying this beautiful girl's company. A retired couple or individual will be perfect for Clover as that age group tends to spend lots of quality time with their dog. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be an excellent choice for this devoted best friend. Clover is too sensitive a pup to be happy with a family that spends the long hours of full time employment working outside of the home.

Rescue dogs are often initially a bit shy but put them into a home with a caring family that provides frequent socialization, nurturing, love and lots of belly rubs, and they will shine. Clover is one of these pups. She's a blank slate just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend and devoted companion

Clover is lucky enough to have inherited the great personality traits of the Beagle breed. She is so excited and attentive as her people teach her the wonders of her world. If Clover is treated kindly and given tons of love and socialization, she will grow into a self-confident girl who will be comfortable with both other dogs and humans. Clover has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a puppyish desire to please.

Farfel's Rescue would like to see Clover in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force free training class promotes great behavior and builds confidence in a dog who is learning about her world. These classes are so important in teaching pups their skills and in the bonding process with their family that Farfel's is unwilling to adopt Clover out to a family that doesn't choose this loving training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both virtual and in-person positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in in your area.

Clover has been fully vetted and vaccinated to fulfill Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She is spayed as well, and will never be forced to be a mom ever again!

Clover is available for adoption now! Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving and sweet as can be best friend and can be found at https://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested in this cuddly companion, please fill our application out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE ** If you're truly interested in adopting Clover, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.

An Adoption Application and an Adoption Contract must be completed before any dog can begin their one week foster. Our average adoption fee is $695. This amount serves to cover vetting, spay/neuter, all vaccinations, temperament testing, transport, a microchip, harness, food, and treats.
Our dogs come from Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and rural Colorado.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Pets are transported from the southern states every week. Almost 100% of the time, the dogs are spoken for as a result of adoption applications that can be referenced under Adoption at farfelsrescue.com. We study the applications. If the app indicates there is a match, followed up by a home visit and reference checks, the process moves to the next step. The adopter is committing to a one week foster (of course the dog can be returned at any time prior), and can then choose to finalize the adoption.

More about this rescue

We own a pet boutique named Farfel's Farm & Rescue on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. We have had the good fortune to find our niche in the Boulder community and experience success. We felt it very important to "pay it forward" in gratitude. We couldn't think of a better endeavor than to save dogs who were out of time in the southern states, yet had been identified with great temperaments. We dedicate our efforts to their good health and ultimate wonderful, permanent homes.
