My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a Queen to your castle, where your heart will be ruled by only one love of your life? Introducing Koko, a sweet but sensitive lady who wants to be the only Ruler of your Roost!

Koko is a long haired beauty with big green eyes and long white whiskers. She has a glorious fluffy tail and solid black markings on the backs of her legs! She enjoys lounging around in cushy cat beds or any location that is near or up against her person. Koko does love a good window to perch on and watch the birds go flying by. Since Koko has such luscious fur, she does require regular brushing to keep her feeling good and looking her best! She does enjoy being brushed, as long as it's done nice and gently :) She will often show her appreciation during brushing by doing slow air biscuits and purring!

Koko can be super affectionate, seeking out rubs and scritches by head butting or rubbing against you. She will come flop next to you (or partially on top of you!) for attention and also loves to give tiny licks on her foster mom's hands to both ask for love and return her own. However, Koko can become easily overstimulated and will suddenly decide she wants some space. A patient adopter who is experienced with reading cat cues is required. Koko would also do best in an adult only home as loud noises and commotion make her a bit nervous!

Queen Koko seems to be quite susceptible to stress and she will do best with a caretaker who can take new things slow. She will also need an adopter who is diligent about keeping her litter box clean - bonus points if you stay stocked up on her favorite litter "cat attract". She is currently on a non-rx sensitive tummy diet that she tolerates well. She has shown an interest in playing while in foster care - her favorites so far seem to be catnip toys or any kind of wand toy. She also gets the zoomies when she is particularly happy to be in the presence of her foster family!

Koko is estimated to be almost four years old. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Are you looking for a sweet companion who also values her independence? Consider adopting Koko today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
