My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Nemo: The Brave Tripawed with a Unique Spirit**

Introducing Nemo, a beautiful white cat with soft grey markings and a heart full of resilience. This special tripod has a remarkable story that showcases his strength and adaptability. Nemo came to us from our friends at SCRAPS. He was part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program, but it was soon discovered that he wasn’t using one of his legs upon intake. After months of rehabilitation efforts that didn’t yield progress, the difficult decision was made to amputate his leg. SCRAPS reached out to us for placement assistance as they clearly couldn’t put him back out on the street with only 3 legs. We said “yes” to giving Nemo a chance.

Despite his challenges, Nemo has proven to be a survivor. He currently lives in a human home, where he coexists comfortably, but he is still considered feral. Nemo enjoys the company of other cats and has a curious, gentle nature. He loves to sniff his foster mom’s fingers and eagerly accepts tasty treats, showing that he is willing to connect on his own terms. However, he prefers to keep his distance—he’s not quite ready for pets or cuddles just yet.

While Nemo has never bitten, he can express his feelings with a hiss if he becomes overwhelmed, and he may attempt to swat with his missing arm. This behavior is just his way of communicating when he needs space.

Nemo would thrive in a warm and understanding environment, whether in a cozy home or a welcoming shop. He longs for a place to call his own, where he can feel safe and secure while continuing to grow at his own pace. If you have a soft spot for a brave little soul like Nemo and are ready to give him the love and space he needs, he might just be the perfect addition to your life!

Nemo is a young adult likely between 2-4yrs old. He will come neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped (including registration). His adoption fee is $85.

Transport is available to approved adopters throughout the PNW!

If you think you have a good home or indoor shop set up for Nemo to thrive, please apply today!

Additional adoption info

How it works-

If you are interested in adopting with us, the first step is an application. We will call two personal references and a veterinary reference (if applicable). The next step is a home check which can be done via sending in a video, or at the time we bring the animal over for a meet and greet.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a facility or hours of operation. To meet available cats or kittens, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Once approved, a meet and greet can be arranged!

More about this rescue

The POUNCE Alliance is a federally licensed 501c3 non profit, feline focused, foster based animal rescue. We heavily focus on TNR (trap-neuter-return) of feral cat colonies to minimize the number of felines born outdoors without proper resources to live and thrive. Thousands of cats are born outdoors every year in our community and the focus of POUNCE is to combat the issue with spay/neuter, vaccinations, and medical treatment. With TNR comes many found kittens, tame cats, and sickly community cats who we cannot ethically return back to their home. This is why POUNCE also has a foster and adoption program for adoptable and "hospice" cases who are either tame or are too fragile to return to the outdoors.
