Let me introduce you to Jane Love, best described as you’re everyday girl. Car-ride ready, good company, self-entertainig, with a love for pup-cups and toys. She has all the makings of the sweetest thing you could ever open your door to at the end of the day. No shortage of happy smiles and tail wags with Jane.
Now, if you were to meet her for the first time out in the yard, you might see an independent girlie who will zoom around a bit and then lay in the shade with her ball. If you met that same girl inside, you would see a couch girlie, possibly the floor if she had just slid herself off in a move that makes you wonder if she has any bones. The thing is, she is both those types and the balance is what makes her so special. She is all heart but isn’t going to smother you with love. If I was put on the spot I would say the way to her heart is a toss up between booty-scratches and treats, especially if you consider pup-cups a treat!
In rescue breed and age are offered as educated guesses given we do not know a dogs history but we believe Jane is about 4 years old and is possibly a Doberman/Black lab mix and she weighs 55 lbs. Putzing around is a favorite past-time of hers loving to tag along in the backyard but if she happens upon the perfect sun-spot, a nap will be in order. She loves a good sunbathing moment. However you spend your time though, she will be happy to be there. She isn’t going to demand attention but she will quietly check-in for some affection and sit nearby so you don’t get lonely. She responds positively to a connection and comforting presence without needing constant reinforcement or praise. Basically, Jane will be happy to keep you company without getting in the way.
Jane has been introduced to a variety of dogs and has shown she has a type- enjoying calm canine companionship with moments of playfulness, overall she doesn’t seek a constant playmate but enjoys the company of other dogs as long as they are not too pushy. She is in the calm and confident years and you can sense it. If you are a one-dog household, she would be perfectly happy to be your one-and-only. A cat-free home will suit her best, when she met our housecat her interest was peaked and she was very eager to get to him in a way that made us suspect she thought he was a very cool fluffy toy and simply, that is no fun for a cat. She does not need much- her people, a few toys, and a soft place to lay and she is going to be over the moon! Add in walks and occasional car-rides and that is heavenly to her. Jane has gone on a few doggie-day-outs with a dedicated volunteer and she has shared nothing buy praise for Jane. They have developed a little routine they both enjoy, first stop is the park for a walk, followed by a coffee date. She has shared that Jane is great at the park and walks well on-leash. She does get a little interested in passing squirrels but redirects easily and has no trouble continuing to walk. I will say, the squirrels at that park are bold and brazen and absolutely taunt passing dogs in an attempt to get them in trouble. Mischievous squirrels are hard to ignore. None the less, you won't hear Jane cause a fuss over it, really, I don’t know if anyone has heard her bark. She may have a bark in there but she doesn’t use it loosely. From her crate to car and in the house, Jane is steady and quiet.
Jane’s dream home? She would love a home with a yard for exploring and sunbathing but thanks to her age and chill presence she has potential to be an apartment girlie. She is easy on leash, which if you live in an apartment will make potty breaks and daily exercise easy-peasy. Wherever she calls home, she is going to show you a depth of rescue-dog love with her sweet, loving, loyal and attentive presence. It feels amazing to be on the receiving end of something so sweet and true.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
