My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's so much to appreciate about a senior dog! They are who they are, they're content with a more relaxed exercise routine, and they lounge well. If that's your speed, too, Libby may be a perfect fit for you! Libby and her big ears are hoping to fly out of the shelter and into your home following this transitional phase of her life.

Libby has become a favorite of our volunteers. They've told us that she is easy to walk and attentive, especially when she knows they have treats because Libby LOVES treats. She will sit politely without being asked, loves being petted, and when taken to one of the play yards, she seems to know the "come" cue. Libby has enjoyed many sniffy adventures during her time here, and now it's time for her to enjoy all these experiences in her new home.

Libby may enjoy opportunities for casual recreation with other dogs, but at this time, she will only be placed in a home without other canines. So if you are looking for that movie night companion to sit and snuggle with perhaps Libby is just what you are looking for. Meet this sweetheart today!

How to Adopt from Foothills Animal Shelter:
Visit the Shelter or one of our offsite adoption partner locations to find a pet. Once you’ve decided on an animal, you should check with staff to see the status and history of the animal. At this time, you can fill out an adoption application and visit with the animal.

We recommend you bring all family members to the Shelter to meet with the animal before you consider adopting. If you are interested in adopting a dog, bring any household dogs to the Shelter to determine if it is a good match. Also, if you rent your home, please bring the pet policy in your lease or rental agreement and contact information for your landlord.

Once your application is reviewed, you can pay the adoption fees and take your new pet home. It may take some time for your new pet to adjust to its new environment. If you have questions or concerns after adopting, please contact us at 303-278-7575.

More about this shelter

Foothills Animal Shelter, formerly known as Table Mountain Animal Center, is an open-admissions facility (never turning away an animal) and one of the largest animal shelters in the metro Denver area – taking in 9,000 animals each year. We are a true community resource that offers a broad variety of animal welfare programs and services. Low-cost spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and dog licensing are some of the services offered to the public.

The organization’s important mission: to provide the best care possible for every animal that enters our doors.

Community, Adopt, Reunite and Educate (C.A.R.E.) are the four key principles of Foothills Animal Shelter.
