Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie still needs a home and she needs a home ASAP!, this poor cat has been in the shelter system since November. She's been in foster with us since January. She does get along with other cats, but she prefers being the only cat. So she's living in our bathroom. This is not the life for a cat. We are supposed to be a temporary home and then find a forever home. There are other cats that are going to be killed at the local shelters because we do not have space, so save 2 lives, actually save 3 lives. Adopt Sophie, let us get another cat out of the shelter and save your own life. Sophie is 10 years young, incredibly sweet and loving. she's very playful. Adoption is through the castaic animal care center, but you can meet her here in sylmar. PLEASE SHARE!!! Failure is not an option! We have the potential adopter come meet the dog and bring their dog for a meet and greet. For cats, they just meet the cat by itself.

we keep our fees low to encourage adoptions of senior dogs. Our kitten fees are based on cost to S/N, vaccinate and chip them.

with dogs, we often bring the dog to their home.

Go meet their pets

Some of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes throughout LA County. They can be brought to the sanctuary for you to meet. We also have dogs at the sanctuary available for adoption. Our cats and kittens are also in foster or at the sanctuary and can be brought to the sanctuary to meet. Currently we are by appointment only, but we are willing to work with your schedule. We do open houses one saturday a month.

Golden Years Dog Sanctuary, a 501c3 non-profit dog and cat rescue, is located at Goldspirit Farm, nestled at the base of Angeles National Forest in Kagel Canyon, Los Angeles County. The dogs have their own half acre run with dog houses and a dogominium complete with custom built beds, carpeting, heating and air conditioning. They also get to roam on eleven acres of doggy heaven known as Goldspirit Farm.
