Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pie, our 75 pound 1 year old mix, looks to be mostly German Shepherd. However, we're convinced she's at least 30% mermaid. Rain doesn't slow Pie down; in fact, she bee-lines toward any puddle just to get her fins, ahem, her paws wet. We also think Pie is 20% parkour-loving kangaroo, 40% Squirrel Spotting Retriever (not currently an AKC breed), and 80% lap dog. Although math is not our strong suit, we are good at spotting excellent dogs. Excellent Pie is ready to find her people.
Pie was taken to the shelter as a stray after being hit by a car. She sustained a fracture to her right tibia (shin bone) that was surgically repaired by the shelter. They asked us to help Pie as she healed. Although the surgeon at the shelter did a great job, Pie's fracture site got infected, and it took weeks and weeks of antibiotics to clear it up. Her most recent X-rays were perfect, and if you saw Pie's kangaroo parkour skills, you'd never know anything was wrong with her.
Our Pie LOVES other dogs. She would thrive in a home with another similar sized dog who also wants to play all day. She is friendly, sweet, and wakes up every morning with a wagging tail. Pie is crate and potty trained. She also knows a lot of commands. Pie enjoys learning new things and if we had to pick one adjective to describe her, it would be "enthusiastic". Toys? Yes, all of them. Walks? Can't get enough. Gardening? Down-hill skiing? Sure, all of it. Pie just wants to be involved.
Pie needs an active adopter who can appreciate that Pie is basically a big, affectionate puppy. She'd love a running/hiking buddy. We have not seen Pie with cats, but assume she may be a bit big for a cat who isn't dog-savvy. Pie is good with kids over 8.
Heartworm negative, Pie is current on her preventatives and is microchipped.
