My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A volunteer writes:
Lucky came to us with friends Bubbles and Sally as well as many kittens as their house counted too many cats...A handsome tiger he is but sadly, he has lost his kingdom and hunkers down, all by his lonesome in his cubby. Lucky is known as a shy, gentle and friendly cat who lived in harmony with his many housemates. True to his former owner's words, Lucky is very timid at the care center, subdued, overwhelmed by his ordeal and the rumble and tumble of shelter life. He accepts gentle strokes on his head, appears to lean at times against my hand, then shrinks his body and lowers his head. My heart hurts for him as I know he is a very sweet cat who needs to be believed in and rediscovered. "Lucky" is certainly not a fitting name for the circumstances Lucky finds himself in but you can turn this around by giving him a chance, a chance to be cared for and loved again. Lucky is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center.

Lucky was lying in the den, appearing somewhat tense with a hunched body. He made some grumbling sounds when pet but he allowed all petting while remaining in place. He sniffed treats, but didn't eat them and could not be coaxed to engage any further. He's a sweet cat with nice potential but may need some time to warm up to his new home.

Lucky interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
