Meet Earl, a confident and friendly 3-year-old cat who is ready to find his forever home! Earl came to us through animal control on February 14th with a tail injury, which has since been treated with a distal tail amputation. He's healing well and is in great spirits! Earl is a social guy-he came to the front of his kennel to greet me and loved being petted, purring loudly in enjoyment. He has no issues with handling his ears, paws, or mouth, but his tail area is still a bit sensitive due to the injury. He's fine being picked up and held, and showed no reaction to the cats in nearby kennels. However, Earl does not get along with other cats and would do best as the only pet in the home. More about this shelter

HHHS has been a permanent part of the Topeka community since its founding May 4, 1938. The organization is incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business for the purpose of sheltering companion animals in need of care, advocating for anti-cruelty protection of animals and promoting humane education and animal welfare issues. HHHS fosters the adoption of companion animals into responsible homes and reunites lost animals with their owners; promotes sterilization of animals to help reduce overpopulation; provides a facility accessible to the general public; serves the community with educational programs addressing animal welfare issues; and maintains a fiscally responsible organization.
