My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Andy, a five-month-old neutered male Jindo mix with a beautiful brown coat and an adventurous spirit! Weighing 7.4kg and standing 42cm tall at the shoulders, this playful pup was rescued from a shelter in Yongin and is now searching for his perfect forever home.

Andy can be a little shy at first, but winning him over is easy—just offer him a treat! Once he warms up, he’s happy to be touched and even enjoys being picked up. He hasn’t had experience with young children, but with gentle handling, he quickly becomes comfortable. When he truly trusts you, he’ll roll over and show his belly as a sign of affection.

With other dogs, Andy is friendly and playful! He loves greeting both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and will happily wag his tail, inviting them to play. On walks, he eagerly approaches other dogs as long as they don’t bark or growl at him first. He tends to be more comfortable with dogs his size or smaller. However, if another dog challenges him, he may engage, so introductions should be handled with care.

Andy has lived with cats for two weeks, and while the cats weren’t exactly thrilled, he remained gentle and playful. Even when they hissed or swatted at him, he would lie down and wag his tail, hoping to befriend them. On walks, he sometimes watches cats with curiosity but follows his human’s lead without resistance.

This little guy has a high energy level and thrives with plenty of exercise. He needs an active home where he can burn off his zoomies before settling down to relax. Older or less energetic pets may find his playful nature overwhelming.

On walks, Andy can be a bit eager and tends to pull on the leash, but he also stops frequently to sniff, making for a start-and-stop walking style. He enjoys exploring new scents just as much as he enjoys the walk itself!

When it comes to food, Andy is easygoing and doesn’t guard his meals or treats. He’s a quiet pup who rarely barks, though he may whine a little when in a kennel. He’s adaptable with potty habits, using both indoor pads and outdoor spaces. While he isn’t overly clingy, he doesn’t shy away from affection either—he’s happy to receive pets but doesn’t demand constant attention. He’s a champ when it comes to baths and taking medicine and has shown no signs of separation anxiety so far.

If you’re looking for a fun-loving, playful, and adaptable companion, Andy is ready to bring joy and excitement into your home. Could you be the one to give him the love and adventure he deserves?

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
