My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐶 🐕 FORREST Male Border collie mix 10 months, 33 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶

FORREST is a delightful but shy Border collie mix with a soft, curly, medium length black and white coat. His front feet have short white socks while his back feet are both tipped in white. He is approximately 10 months of age and 33 pounds.

FORREST loves mealtime and appreciates treats for being a good boy! He also loves toys of all kinds; bones, ropes, stuffed animals, squeakers, etc. You’ll want to keep plenty around as he has been known to steal a shoe or two (no damage, just a collector). If FORREST isn’t entertaining himself with a toy he can likely be found taking a snooze on the couch.

FORREST can be shy in new experiences but takes to other dogs quite well. He follows his fellow foster siblings in and out of the house and loves to play. FORREST enjoys lounging around outside and prefers it at times over being inside. He has also met non-canine animals of all kinds and does not show much interest in them so will likely do well with any furry or feathered friends.

FORREST is gaining confidence around new people and greets everybody with a wagging tail. He has been around children as well and seems to enjoy their company and attention. FORREST will do best with slow and repeated introductions to continue to gain the confidence he needs to thrive. Because of his shy nature he would do best in a home with another dog that can help show him the ropes of life.
FORREST seems to be house trained with frequent outings but doesn’t quite signal that he needs to go out. When left home with the other dogs FORREST spends his time in his crate. He often times puts himself to bed in his crate where he sleeps soundly throughout the night. And last but not least, after some repeated exposure FORREST travels well in the car in his crate.

If you like cute and not over the top active that some border collies are, he may just be the boy for you!

FORREST is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about FORREST, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org.

FORREST is being fostered in Vacaville in Solano County, CA.
