Hi, my name is Oakley! I'm one of the dogs APS rescued from a commercial dog breeder in partnership with Bissell Pet Foundation. I've had a rough start to life and can't wait to find my future family! Please be patient with me as I learn how the world works and learn to accept the love I deserve. In my new home I'll need confidence building, a cozy retreat, and lots of positive experiences. Could my forever home be with you?

I’m about 6 months old, so there have been a lot of firsts for me lately. I've taken a walk on the leash, jumped up steps, gawked at the tv, and had my first haircut. I've learned how to make friends and run around with my foster sisters. Of course, I wasn't well socialized so it takes me some time to warm up to new people. My foster mom noticed that I follow her around everywhere and sit at her feet, and that I absolutely love to be held and cuddled. I'd love to live with someone who will keep me active and also give me regular grooming.
Please remember, these dogs are a bit shy and sensitive and may need some extra care. They may be a little anxious, and they will flourish if you provide gentle guidance to build their confidence.
