Meet Suki, a 2- to 3-year-old, 21-lb., Shiba Inu who was transferred to PK from another local rescue. Although Shibas often timid towards strangers, not Suki! She greets all humans with joy and excitement. She loves playing fetch and will do it for hours if you let her. In fact, as an active and intelligent breed, she needs mental and physically stimulating activities and would love an active family who keeps her engaged with daily walks, playtime, etc. Suki is potty trained, follows daily routines, and will patiently wait for her human friends to arrive back home. Suki’s favorite activity is exploring outdoors! As a result, she’s eager to sneak out the moment she detects a door opening, so she’ll need a home where security is prioritized. Suki is well behaved around cats and is confident with other dogs. There have been signs of slight food/toy aggression around other animals but not with humans. She would be fine in a home with responsible children who keep her safe and secure. Suki’s forever home should be with someone who has a fenced yard and experience with caring for a Shiba.
