A26278 Rye is a black with white colored, approximately 6-year-old, 12-pound, neutered male, Domestic Short-Haired cat.
He entered the shelter as a stray on 03-14-2025 and was altered by our medical staff.
Rye is a friendly, shy, timid boy here at the shelter. He is still trying to figure out this shelter environment and why he is here. Our staff says he really scared right now and hides in the back of his kennel. In the playroom he cautiously checked things out and ultimately hid under furniture to watch the room from. He does like affection but just unsure here. He would do best in a nice quiet home with no small children. He seems to get along with other cats and came in with another cat. Rye will be a loving companion in his new forever home.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
