My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tammy is a LWAS volunteer fave! She is a large and in charge New Zealand rabbit, about 8.8 lbs. But she is 8.8 lbs of pure love! Like most rabbits she does not want to be scooped up but she is very friendly and loves attention once she warms up to you, and will position herself right next to you and just soak up the pets. She might do well with another rabbit but probably one who is "chill" and not too forward.https://www.lostwoodsas.com/adoption-application

Go meet their pets

We are currently open by appointment only to see all the pets, but we frequently appear at farmer's markets and other local events with adoptable animals.

More about this shelter

We are a specialty rescue for small exotic pets, such as reptiles and small mammals. We were formed by two women who met working at a nature center. In their interactions with the public they noticed a need in the area for a rescue that specialized in exotic pets, as well as a value in public education. Lost Woods Animal Sanctuary was formed with the mission to reduce mistreatment and abandonment of animals through rescue and rehoming, as well as educational outreach.
