Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home.
I can be shy in new spaces. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.
I'm easy going. Wanna go for a walk? Okay. Hang out in the yard? No problem. Just relax on the couch? I can do that. I'm pretty happy to go at your pace and I don't really need much more than most dogs do. If you're looking for a steady companion, I'm all yours.
It's recommended I meet any kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.
I'd prefer to be the only dog in my new home. Sharing my home and stuff with another dog just isn't for me. My human friends at the shelter can tell you more.
I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please email adoptions@southwesthumane.org.
I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! If you're interested in meeting me, please email adoptions@southwesthumane.org.
My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them: Coco is an absolute sweetheart. She's a shy girl who needs time to learn to trust people and get comfortable and once she does she will show you her snuggly, playful and silly sides. She loves stuffed toys and belly rubs and will often fall asleep on her back with a toy in her mouth. She loves sniffing around the backyard and chasing a ball and she's great at learning tricks. She's an excellent companion for curling up on the couch with a book or watching a movie. On walks, she loves to sniff everything, but if she sees another dog or small animal she'll want to chase and can pull hard. We've been working with her on these things and she'll need to continue the training in her forever home. She can also be nervous about loud sounds and prefers to take walks on quieter streets, but she does great at looking to us for a treat when something makes her nervous. Coco is a joy to have in our home and we know she'll make a great companion for someone with a little patience and kindness.
