My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Drifter, a 5 year old 41 lb mixed breed. Our best guess is he has some boxer and lab but he is 100% sweet. He is on the short side but pretty muscular. Drifter is a sweet good natured boy who loves people and is great with other dogs. He also enjoys belly rubs. During his photo shoot, his tail was constantly wagging! Drifter is pretty good on the leash but does 'drift' from side to side.

Drifter attended a pets store event and did great! But warning: he is a shoplifter and cost his handler $15! You just cant say no to those pleading eyes.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
