My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Goldie, a delightful 10-month-old mixed breed who is as charming as she is energetic. Weighing in at a healthy 33 pounds, Goldie is ready to fill your days with endless fun and joy!

Goldie is a bundle of energy who loves the great outdoors. Whether it`s running around the yard or going on long walks, Goldie thrives on activity. She’s mastered potty training and knows how to sit, making her a smart and well-behaved companion. Her favorite pastime? Playing fetch and chasing after balls – she could do it all day!

Goldie is friendly and outgoing, and she gets along especially well with bigger dogs. She walks beautifully on a leash, making her the perfect partner for your daily strolls. Goldie’s affectionate nature shines through in her love for giving kisses and getting her chest and belly scratched.

This vibrant girl is looking for a forever home where she can share her boundless energy and love. If you`re looking for a loyal and active companion who will bring endless joy and excitement to your life, Goldie is the one for you.

More about this rescue

Since 2006, we have operated Plano's first no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to rescue at-risk cats and dogs from local municipal shelters.

We supply them with needed medical care, food, and shelter. Just as important, we provide all of our cats and dogs with the love and attention they deserve until they are placed into their forever homes. Come visit us and adopt your newest family member today! Everyone deserves a second chance.

Second Chance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are not affiliated with, nor do we receive any funding from, the SPCA of Texas, ASPCA, or any other humane organization. We do not receive any city, state, or federal funds.

Over the last 10 years, we've rescued over 3,200 dogs and cats who were slated for euthanasia at DFW municipal shelters and placed them with forever families.
