The best snuggles? Husky snuggles.
This gorgeous blondie is named Sable! Sable is estimated to be just a year and a half old and currently weighs in at 54 pounds. We think she’s a Husky mix, but of course with rescue it’s always a best guess! Husky genes cannot hide for long, though!
Meet Sweet Sable here: https://youtu.be/jHcm-HWAs2c?feature=shared
Our favorite thing about Sable is how loving she is with her people. We scooped Sable up for an afternoon to get to know her, and she showed us that she’s a little shy with new people- but all of the signs of a super people loving dog were there. She would approach for comfort and reassurance, and took treats super gently. She’s such a sweetheart once she gets to know you! With her foster mom, that bond is there 100% and she’s such a momma’s girl for it. She will literally sit in her foster mom’s lap for hours, snuggling and kissing all the while. If you’re looking for a rescue dog, odds are you’re looking for a dog you can deeply, deeply bond with. While that’s not all rescue dogs, it definitely is Sable!
Sable is also amazing with other dogs. She is currently fostered with a 17 pound mini schnauzer mix, a 40 pound lab mix and a Husky that could be her twin. She gets along great with everyone, and is her most playful self with the smallest pup in the pack. We had a chance to see Sable meet a handful of dogs with varying personalities, from stable and confident Kane, a black lab mix, to dominant and mellow Smiley, an older Pittie girl. Sable wasn’t overly interested in play with any of the new dogs, but she was perfectly polite with all of them. That’s kind of a running theme with Sable- she’s very human in her connections and understands that we should get to know people before being our most playful selves. Her perfect doggy sibling match? A dog that can kind of just coexist, one that won’t be too pushy with her while she warms up, a dog that’s dog-friendly and cool with sharing their humans and their home.
Sable is a superstar when it comes to playtime in her foster home. Her favorite day so far was our once-in-a-blue-moon Texas snow day. She romped and played out in the fresh powder, carrying her toys with her and jumping around.
The key to Sable’s heart is most certainly treats. She takes treats so gently, with such a grateful heart. She savors her treats more than most dogs, which is adorable.
Sable is ready for her forever home. She’s a bit of a gentle soul and would greatly benefit from a dedicated adoptive family that will allow her a full decompression period! Don’t know what that is? No worries, our behavior team and her adoption coordinator will be at the ready with all of your answers, and we’ll even send you tons of tips and tricks. We would love to see Sable in a multi-dog home, though she could also thrive as a solo dog. While Sable does well with dogs, we don’t recommend her for a home with kitties. Sable is more of a suburbs/countryside girl than a city girl, we’d love to see her in a home with ample room to stretch her legs. Somewhere outside of the hustle and bustle that shared walls and close quarters can bring. She’s such a sweetheart and a perfect rescue pup, don’t make her wait- apply today. We are willing to test Sable with anything you need us to in order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
