My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gigi is a very sweet 8 month old female puppy who came up from Texas end of February. She is good with other dogs and good with cats. She loves all people she has met. She is a ball of happy energy. Gigi was sadly shot in her front leg while in Texas and would have been euthanized had we not rescued her and performed an amputation to remove her front leg which she was unable to use. When she came to us she was non weight bearing and did not use that front leg due to the damage of the bullet shot. Our amazing vet clinic staff performed the leg amputation on March 5th and she is currently in a foster home. She will be in foster care for a couple weeks and we are taking names / numbers and contact info from any family who is potentially interested in adopting this amazing girl whose been through so much in her short life. She desperately deserves an amazing family who will love her and give her the best life ever. Gigi is currently being fostered by a family who also have two other dogs and doing well!

This is a letter from the foster !

Beautiful Gigi is amazing and resilient! She is a happy, cuddly, playful and active pup, despite her rough start. Her tail is always wagging!

She has the most beautiful eyes and a stunning coat.

She LOVES playing with our two dogs and is especially attached to our 10 yr old child.

Very snuggly when it's time to rest and will tuck her head under your arm.

She loves basking in the sun and being outside, but is also happy to be inside with her toys and people.

She sleeps through the night in her crate, though she likes her crate to be near her people.

This brave pup has overcome so much and quickly adjusted being a 3-legged girl. We are amazed by her multiple times a day! It's almost as if she doesn't realize. She's inspiring!

She loves throwing her balls or toys for herself and then fetches them. She really loves playing with her humans too, though.

She's very smart and treat motivated, which will be helpful to continue her training.

She recently mastered going up and down the six outside deck stairs! So proud of her! Hardwood stairs are still a scary challenge for Gigi, but with time, I have no doubt this brave girl will conquer the interior stairs in no time. Rug runners or stair treads could help, if needed.

This good girl has had no accidents inside the house! We take her out every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Also we use Poochie Bells so the dogs can let us know when they want to go out.

Gigi is such a remarkable and brave girl and we know she will make a great companion to her perfect forever family! She's guaranteed to bring so much love and laughter to your life!
