My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Ravin! She has charming lightly colored stripes throughout her coat and has yellow/hazel eyes! Tragically, Ravin was found in a trash bag by a good Samaritan who thankfully brought her to a shelter. Thankfully, we nursed her back to health and gained her trust fairly quickly - she is the most resilient kitty! She has a great temperament, loves being pet, laying on your lap & she also has a spunky energetic side! She is very affectionate, however it's important to let her come to you as she pleases, as she can get wiggly & accidentally scratch you if held against her will. She is very quirky, inquisitive, loves playing with cat toys of all sorts and will follow you around endlessly! She is well socialized around people, and is used to a multi-cat household, but also think she would do well as a solo kitty. We hope to continue to turn Ravin's initial rough start at life into a beautiful journey in a forever home where she can feel safe and loved!

We also have cats online on our website or adoptapet.org. Some cats may be in foster care, but we can arrange to have the available to meet

Submit Application

If you'd like to adopt a cat or kitten, great. We love finding them forever homes. Complete an online application on oue website

3.
Approve Application

Once your application is approved, we will ask you to sign the adoption agreement and pay a nominal aoption fee.

Texas CARES' cats and kittens ARE NOT FOR SALE.
Cats and kittens are adopted by completing an adoption application that will be reviewed by the Texas CARES volunteer staff. Potential adopter(s) will be notified of the status of their application. This process can take 48-72 hours. Applications for adoption can be obtained from a Texas CARES volunteer or found on our website: http://www.texascares.org/adopt Adoption fees may be tax deductible donations.

More about this rescue

Texas CARES is a non-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization. Our all-volunteer group provides shelter and veterinary care for homeless and unwanted cats and kittens in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth and surrounding areas.

Our cats and kittens are rescued from local "kill" shelters and desperate public situations. All are cared for in foster homes until they are adopted.

Texas CARES was established in 1992 and is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. All of Texas CARES' funding comes from donations and fundraising events.
