Meet Tomas!
Tomas is a 2-year-old, 10-pound terrier/Chihuahua mix from Tijuana who has been adjusting well in his Manhattan foster home. This spunky little guy is full of personality and energy! He loves chewing on bones and bully sticks, playing with soft toys, and going on walks around the neighborhood. When he’s not busy exploring, he enjoys cozy naps in his crate or snuggling up on his favorite blanket.
Tomas is still working on his housetraining—he mostly goes outside but does some marking indoors. He does well in his crate when his foster mom leaves the apartment and, while he experiences some separation anxiety, he settles down after a short time.
On walks, Tomas is a curious adventurer but is still learning his leash manners. He can be reactive to some dogs and men on the street, so he’ll need a patient adopter willing to help him gain confidence through training.
Tomas would love an active family who can match his playful spirit! He gets along well with his similarly sized foster sister and would likely thrive with a small, confident dog to show him the ropes. He may do best in a home with older, active kids, as he can get a little mouthy when excited.
If you’re looking for a fun-loving pup who’s equal parts energetic and cuddly, Tomas could be your perfect match!
Could you be Tomas’ forever home?
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Tomas tested positive for ehrlichia and anaplasma and is being treated with doxycycline. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply for Tomas, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
