Charlie is a 2-year-old, 13-pound male chihuahua / terrier mix from Tijuana! Charlie is unique because he's missing a toe on his back foot, but it doesn't slow him down at all. He walks, runs, and jumps without difficulty!
Charlie is a sweet, adaptable, gentle pup. He has adjusted very well to adjust during his time in the Brooklyn. Charlie enjoys being pet, laying next to you, exploring the neighbor on walks.
Charlie appears to be house trained. He seems to signal when he need to go outside. We’ve been taking him on frequent walks and he hasn’t had any accidents. Charlie is great on a leash. He sniffs a lot and marks often on a walk. He doesn’t pull and is confident.
Charlie has done well in his crate during the day for the most part. There is some seperation anxiety and whining when we’ve left the house which will need to be addressed by his forever family. He loves to be cozy with his foster family and can often be found with asleep next to a member of our family.
He appreciates downtime and active moments. He is being fostered with fairly calm children, aged 10 and 6, and Charlie is completely fine around them.
In limited interactions with other dogs on the street he has shown no aggression.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply for Charlie, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
