My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Leo, a handsome 2 year old Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a spirit full of energy. This sweet 45-pound boy is looking for a new home after his beloved owner recently passed away. Leo is a true joy to be around—he has a gentle temperament, gets along well with other dogs, and is incredibly responsive to human guidance. His eagerness to learn and willingness to please make him an excellent companion for anyone who enjoys training a dog with a good attitude and a big heart.

Despite a rough couple months, Leo is a true survivor. He bravely fought through parvo and came out stronger than ever, and now he is immune to the virus—meaning he can never catch it again. His beautiful coat and bright eyes reflect his resilience and positive spirit. Leo is full of life, playful, and loves being active. Whether it's going for a walk, playing in the yard, or just hanging out with his humans, Leo will be by your side, eager to share his affection and energy.

Leo will be neutered and up to date on all his vaccines, making him ready to move into his forever home. He’s a happy, healthy pup who’s sure to make a wonderful addition to any family. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s full of potential, Leo is the perfect match. He’s bound to win your heart and will be scooped up quickly, so apply for adoption today at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
