If you’ve always adored Huskies, but you’ve never had the energy for all of that- today is your lucky day. Meet perhaps the only low energy Husky in the world- Ariel!
We think Ariel is a German Shepherd, Husky mix but she is a rescue so these are simply our best guesses. She’s estimated to be five years old, and weighs in at a perfectly couch-cushion-sized 40 pounds.
Fall in love with Ariel here: https://youtu.be/ubWFhxnaXNI?feature=shared
Ariel has all of the opinions, lovable banter, and personality of a Husky. She’s less verbal than most of the Huskies we’ve met, but she has her moments of talkativeness. She’s just like a Husky in her affection, with a preference for scritches and leg-leans over outright snuggles. She’s also so intelligent, and loyal to her people, she’s everything you could want in a Husky… without all of that energy. Ariel is on the lower end of the energy spectrum, content to just hang around for most of every day. She has her moments of play, but they’re quickly followed by a much needed nap in her crate. She would be a perfect match for a work-from-home person, a Husky lover that’s outgrown the energy of the breed, or really just about any dog lover that prefers a quieter, gentler lifestyle.
Ariel is also amazing on leash, and not too terribly interested in meeting every single person she passes. It’s a superpower, and one that makes walking her through busy areas quite easy. Ariel would be a perfect walking companion in just about any area.
Described as a total foodie, Ariel absolutely loves treats. When you first meet Ariel, she can be a little shy, but treats are absolutely the way to her heart! She loves cheese, she loves milkbones, and she shares treats well with other dogs!
Speaking of other dogs, Ariel has two doggy best friends that have absolutely won her heart. Both of them are calm and collected males, one is named Dunkin and the other is Knox. Knox is a shmedium calm, lower energy older male. Knox and Ariel have an adorable friendship, they’ll play gently and sweetly with each other, and then settle down together on the floor. Dunkin is a great big Shepherd boy that gets along well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes, and doesn’t mind Ariel’s aloof and mellow nature. He doesn’t pester her to play, and because of this she enjoys his company. Ariel could live with an aloof, calm male dog, but we think she would be happiest as the only dog. She’s an easy going girl that wouldn’t mind being the queen of your castle.
Ariel has her bags packed, she’s ready for her forever home. A calmer home would likely be best for her- she’s just such a mellow, gentle, old soul. Ariel could live with another dog, but we do not recommend her for a home with kitties! We are willing to test Ariel with anything you need us to in order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
