Greetings! My name is Carl, affectionately known as Squishy Carl by my friends. I am a 2-year-old large mixed breed, with DNA results revealing a composition of 38% Staffordshire Terrier, 29% American Pitbull Terrier, 12% German Shepherd Dog, and traces of Boxer, Labrador, and Golden Retriever. I possess a playful personality and an exceptional fondness for water. Unlike most dogs who are treat-motivated, I am driven by my love for quality H2O.
My days are spent engaging in play with my canine companions, particularly enjoying wrestling with my dog friends. I also have a keen interest in the small "dogs" known as cats, although they seem disinterested in playing with me. One of my favorite humans is my 8-year-old foster sister, whom I follow everywhere because she is truly remarkable. I take pride in being well-behaved, as I am potty trained, kennel trained, and a graduate of obedience school, knowing all my basic commands.
I am seeking a forever family that can match my energetic and playful lifestyle, while also appreciating some cozy couch time at the end of the day. Extra points if you do not mind me snoring in your lap!
All Heart of America dogs are altered, micro chipped and will have age-appropriate vaccines.

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.
Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs).
