My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cotton is a cuddly, playful and confident kitten who came to the rescue orphaned at a week old. He took to the bottle like a champ and loves his food. He enjoys lots of cuddles as you would expect given he is Siamese and was bottle fed from such a young age. He is currently in foster with a beautiful long-haired kitten named Amadeus. These two are bonded and we would like nothing more than for them to be adopted together. For more information please contact there foster mom Debbie who does live in Maine at 802-595-0107.

Additional adoption info

While we sometimes do allow same day adoptions provided we can get necessary reference checks back in a timely manner, we do not promise to ever just send one of our rescue animals home. It is a privilege not a "right" to adopt one of our animals. If we are at all unsure of you or your home situation or intentions, we reserve the right to refuse to adopt to you or require more intensive checks, including a home check of your home prior to adopting to you. Our interests are for that of our animals first and foremost and ensuring the best successful odds of a FUR-ever home for both our animal and you as well!! We are very happy to advise you through the process on how to integrate a new fur-baby into your home where other pets may also live. We offer follow-up support with advice and guidance to all of our adopter families too!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We would love for you to meet our furbabies, however, being that we are an all-volunteer run organization we have limited walk-in hours as it is based on when we have volunteers skilled as adoption counsellors available...

That said, most every Saturday is Open Adoption Walk-In hours from 10am-2pm.
During the week as we have vet appts, volunteer schedules to work around, etc..it is by appointment only!! We are always happy to accommodate appts ahead of time and at a time conducive both to ours & yours availability!! Just give us a call to set something up...either call Marilyn at 207-490-2855 or Amanda at 603-205-3615 (text or call!) and we will happily areange for you to come by and meet our incredible kitties!!
Stay tuned too to our Facebook page Another Chance Animal Rescue (North Berwick ME) and follow us there for special off-site adoption events as our kitties often go on off-site field trips and news about our rescues happenings!

More about this rescue

We are a no-kill, all volunteer, foster based rescue committed to animals - mainly cats at this time - and helping to find them, no matter their age, chronic health issues or special needs they may have their "Another Chance". We have been around since 2001, when a former rescue that was closing it's doors needed many of the founding fosters of our organization who previously volunteered for them to help find placements for the animals who would have otherwise fallen through the closures cracks.
We are solely a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue, funded entirely by private donors, private grants, adoption fees that barely cover the exorbitant cost of vetting, and also by proceeds we generate through a small non-profit Thrift Shop we run & operate also solely with volunteers in North Berwick ME, which is actually where our rescue was born from initially & cats & dogs were shown at every Satirday during Open Adoption hours when all the fosters would bring their furcharges in to be shown and potentially find their fur-ever humans! We were able to eventially able to expand our small community rescue to neighboring Sanford ME as well when one ofvyhe fisters at the time, now our Vice President Marilyn Harley, opened her home and barn that was converted into an adoption facility and rescue to Another Chance.
We are always in need of more volunteers for all aspects of our rescue operation! No matter your area of expertise, be it hands on cat expert or cleaner to retail savvy or able to fundraise, use computers, do file management or simply cuddle cats ir feed them and do some laundry too, we'd love to chat with you & get you involved in "Helping Us To Help Them"...
We serve the Southern ME & NH communities.
