I don’t remember much about my life before the shelter, but I do remember how lonely it was. The days stretched on, each one blending into the next. I sat in a small cage, hoping someone would notice me, but the people who walked by never stopped. I tried to be patient, to be good, but my time was running out.
Then, just when I thought all hope was lost, everything changed. Someone came for me. They spoke softly, gently scooping me up and telling me I was safe. Safe. I didn’t know what that truly meant yet, but I knew it felt different. It felt warm.
At the rescue, I discovered something wonderful—love. The people there gave me all the attention I had been craving. I learned that belly rubs were a thing, and let me tell you, they are my absolute favorite! I would flop onto my back, stretching out, hoping for more. And every time, they would laugh and give me exactly what I wanted—more love.
I’ve been here since September, waiting for someone to choose me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice place, and I’m so grateful. But I dream of a home where I don’t have to wait my turn for affection, where I have my own sunny window to nap in and a human to call my own. Maybe I’ll have a laid-back kitty friend, or maybe I’ll be the only one—I don’t mind either way, as long as I have love.
I don’t ask for much. Just a soft place to rest, a warm lap to curl up on, and someone who will never make me feel invisible again. I promise, if you choose me, I will be the most loyal, loving companion you could ever hope for.
