My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Michelle (michellepatrich@hotmail.com) for more information about this pet.

Hi, I’m Fish! I was rescued with my sisters the day before Hurricane Milton, and my life has completely changed since then. I’m a sweet and playful girl, but I’ll need a little time to warm up to new people and places. I can be shy at first, but once I feel safe, I’m a confident and loving kitten who adores attention!

I love being pet and sometimes get so excited that I do a little “dolphin jump” up to the hand that’s petting me. I also enjoy taking naps with my foster humans and cuddling with the other cats in my home. Treats are one of my favorite things, and I’m super food motivated. My foster humans laugh because my wide eyes and serious expression always make it look like I’m deep in thought or forgot to pay my taxes!

I did test FIV+, but because I’m so young, it’s most likely a false positive from my mom’s antibodies. Either way, I have so much love to give and am ready to find my forever family. Could that be you?

Some of our cats ready for adoption can be seen at the following Adoption Center locations:

PetSmart, located at 12835 Citrus Park Dr across from the Citrus Park Mall. Our volunteers are onsite for adoptions Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and will be happy to assist you with finding the perfect feline companion. PetSmart management can assist with an adoption during other days/hours, time permitting. Cats are onsite 7 days a week.

PetSmart, located at 11331 Causeway Blvd in Brandon. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite for adoptions Saturday from 11:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 2:30pm only.

Petco, located at 13127 N Dale Mabry Hwy. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm only.

We have many more cats than the ones housed at our Adoption Center locations. Our cats live with foster families until they are ready for adoption and space is available at an Adoption Center. If a cat is located in a foster home and the foster has provided contact information, you can get more details on a particular cat directly from them.

More about this rescue

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit 501-c-3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray domestic animals as well as spay/neuter and medical services for those animals. We seek to place animals in a loving foster or permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia/FIV (cats), wormed and vaccinated before they are adopted.
