Meet Monty – The Handsome Chunk with a Heart of Gold!
Monty is a big, lovable guy with a personality just as grand as his size! Originally adopted as a young cat, he was recently returned when his person could no longer care for him.
Now, he’s on the hunt for a forever home that will shower him with love—and help him stay on top of his health and fitness. His new home will need to prioritize Monty's health to ensure he gets to his healthiest self.
Monty is a certified CHUNK, and he wears it well! He’s a master of napping on his back and giving the most smoldering, heart-melting looks. He enjoys the company of other cats, doesn’t mind dogs, and most importantly—he adores attention and affection. Monty is a lover, not a fighter, and his only requirement for a new home is ALL THE LOVE.
If you’re looking for a big, affectionate, and ridiculously charming kitty, Monty is ready to be your new best friend. Come meet him and let the love fest begin!
Monty is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
